The first SKA sponsored Synthesis Imaging in Radio Astronomy workshop took place at HartRAO from 9 to 16 October. Several members of the AIMS group attended along with other astronomers and cosmologists from around South Africa. A large part of the workshop was focused on doing hands on reduction of radio data from observations of a source 3C391 using AIPS (Astronomical Image Processing System).
After cleaning, calibrating and processing the data we created these multi-wavelength images of 3C391 radio contours overlaid with ROSAT x-ray data and with a DSS optical image.
