Alan Carl Clarke

I was born in Durban in 1984, and have since lived in the natal Midlands, the North Coast, Swaziland and mozambique. I completed a BSc: Physics at the University of Pretoria in 2009, and an Honours in Astrophysics and Space science at the University of Cape Town in 2010.

What inspired you to study science?

I always enjoyed science at schools, especially physics. After attempts at other professions I came back to what I enjoy.

Do you have a role model in science?

Not really. “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking is what pushed me into physics, so its more the possibilities than the people that inspire me.

A quote that inspires you?

“There is nothing impossible to him who will try.”
— Alexander the Great
